Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wisconsin installed a photovoltaic system on the Agricultural Technology Center in the fall of 2001. The system was designed and installed to also act as a shade awning on the south side of the building. For more information contact Randy Tenpas at 920.735.5673.

St. Mary Central High School, Neenah, Wisconsin has completed a new 1,080 square-foot Environmental Energy education Center that combines a classroom/workroom with the existing Solar Energy Center. Wisconsin Public Service Corporation gives tours of hydroelectric plants on the Wisconsin, Tomahawk, Peshtigo and Menominee rivers (for grades K-8) and of its coal plant near Wausau (for grades 6-12). Contact them about their wind sites. Call Bob Hernke at 920.236.5945.

Don Keck from the Focus on Energy Schools & Government Program Facilities Management Services provides programs to school districts to reduce energy costs, become energy efficient, and provide a safe and healthful environment for staff and students. Dmitri Martin, owner of GreenStar Development Corp. in Waupaca, is able to speak with students and teachers interested in energy efficient home construction. Lumber Dealers Supply has specialists on staff who are involved in the DuPont Tyvek Specialist program which is made up of 170 men and women in the U.S. and Canada who are trained in all facets of residential and commercial construction. The classes they attend have been developed by a former college professor from Purdue to help them train building contractors, architects, teachers, students, engineers and building inspectors about building science and building practices. Richard Stephens, formerly the Regional Sales Manager for Solar Mining Company, does renewable energy and energy efficiency consulting with Sustainable Energy Solutions, and is available to make presentations to students about renewable energy and our energy future. Richard's broad background includes secondary science education and includes Certification as a Focus on Energy Site Assessor for Solar Hot Water, Solar Electric, and Wind Technology. Solarwise for Schools is a solar energy and education program offered to high schools served by Wisconsin Public Service Corporation. The goal of this program is to install solar-electric systems on high schools and educate students about solar power.

Wisconsin Public Service Corporation has many employees and retirees involved in their Speakers Bureau who volunteer their time and expertise to make presentations on a wide range of topics pertinent to the utility industry. These presentations are about 20 minutes in length.
