Introduction
These pages are filled with a plethora of information, including teaching and field trip ideas, resources, photos, and much more. These pages will be periodically updated to "KEEP" you informed of all the energy resources that are available to you. If you know of any classroom projects, energy events or links that should be highlighted, email energy@uwsp.edu.
Teaching Resources
Listed below are useful energy education resources divided into Hands-on, Online, and Printed Resources. Hands-on Resources include materials you can receive to use in your classroom and may include videos, activity kits, and other energy-related resources. The Online Resources will include renewable energy slide shows as well as virtual field trips to be used in your classroom. The Printed Resources include a full list of Energy Education materials found at the Energy Center of Wisconsin (ECW) and at the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) (these are also available for you to receive to use in your classroom).
Homeschool Teaching
Each year, KEEP hosts an Educator Tent at the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair. The fair, hosted by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, is the largest and most successful venue of its kind in the world. The Educator Tent provides a haven for educators to network, explore resources in energy education, and participate in renewable energy workshops.
Homeschool teachers are among the participants who visit the Educator Tent and express interest in energy education. Because of this interest, the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program submitted a grant to the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) requesting resources to fund its Energy Education at Home Project. We hope you find this publication useful and fun.
