Each KEEP course addresses Wisconsin Academic Standards, including the two online courses. NRES 735 Renewable Energy Education addresses concepts related to renewable energy that are listed in the Conceptual Guide. Renewable energy concepts are noted by this wind turbine.

The concepts within the Guide are organized under four themes: 1) We Need Energy, 2) Developing Energy Resources, 3) Effects of Energy Resource Development, and 4) Managing Energy Resource Use. Each concept in the Conceptual Guide is correlated to specific standards in five subject areas: science, environmental education, social studies, technology education, and family and consumer education.
