Welcome to NRES 735: Renewable Energy Education, a one-credit undergraduate/graduate level web-based course (Internet delivery) offered through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and developed by the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP). The Web site component of this course is always open to the general public; the course content is geared primarily for K-12 educators. At certain times of the year, there is university credit available for this course, see Schedule Information or contact the KEEP office. See Registration Information to find out how to register. Enrolled students also participate in interactive online discussions and complete assignments. On-campus students need instructor permission to enroll in this course. The course addresses what renewable energy is including solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass, how renewable energy is used worldwide, nationwide, and locally in Wisconsin, the benefits and barriers of using renewable energy, as well as how to incorporate renewable energy into your life. Course activities will include exploration of renewable energy readings and pertinent Web sites, and online discussions. Course Goal: Participants will gain a fundamental knowledge about renewable energy, how to incorporate renewable energy into their daily operations at work and at home, the benefits and barriers of using renewable energy, and will gain insight into the renewable world by discussing case studies and talking directly to course guests who have experience with renewables.
