Garden Creates a Green Space for a Crowded School
Peter Liu, the principal of a school in Taipei, Taiwan took the opportunity to transform a broken fountain on campus to a lovely native garden. Liu, a strong advocate for environmental education, created an area of native plants, trees and flowers to enhance the crowded school campus and to use the gardens as an educational tool. Lui came to Stevens Point, WI in the fall of 2004 with his family to study with the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education. He attended conferences, studied the WCEE programs, and experienced what role environmental education plays in Wisconsin schools.
