Writing Workshop

Wilderness Writing for Wild Youth
This experiential, hands-on workshop is for teachers and environmental educators who want to incorporate creative and scientific writing into their elementary, middle, and high school classes. The workshop will provide opportunities to:

• Learn how to create an environmental writing program at your school utilizing creative writing and environmental journalism tools that meet Wisconsin model academic standards in Language Arts and Science for middle and high school.
• Expand your own writing style, and strengthen the environmental literacy skills of your students.
• Develop a solid nature writing curriculum and the ability to lead your students confidently into the wild and deeper into discovering the wonders of life.

Location:
Boston School Forest - 5084 Lincoln Ave, Plover, WI (just south of Stevens Point)

Date & Times:
Wednesday, August 20 - 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Workshop will be led by:
Jan D. Wellik, founder and executive director of Eco Expressions, a nature writing program for youth. She is the author of Nature Writing Field Guide for Teachers

Materials Fee:
$25.00, includes recently published, Nature Writing Field Guide for Teachers ($25 value)
