Introductory Address
State Superintendent, Elizabeth Burmaster, will give the
introductory address.
Keynote Speaker
George Meyer, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation,
will provide the keynote address emphasizing the importance of
environmental science education in the wise use and protection of our
state's natural resources.
Morning Sessions
These hot
topics will provide information and resources you can infuse into your
courses. The following will be highlighted: Quality
Resources; Addressing Environmental Issues; Student Action Projects;
Sustainability Education. Each session will feature
multiple presenters and be repeated so Summit participants can attend a
total to two of the four sessions.

Participants will be introduced to Wisconsin's new Environmental Science
Course Framework. Discussion will focus on how the framework was
developed and how it can be used.
Learn more about the framework.
Framework Sessions
Join fellow educators in a discussion-oriented session focused on
resource sharing. Each of the seven afternoon concurrent sessions will
feature one topic from the Environmental Science Course Framework:
Ecological Principles; Human Systems; Energy Resources; Air Resources;
Land Resources; Water Resources; Living Resources/Biodiversity. Sessions
will be repeated so participants can attend two of the seven sessions.
Closing Session
As we wrap up the day your feedback will determine next steps for the
Environmental Science Teacher Network. Don't miss the many door prizes -
which include a professional development experience in South Africa!
