Pre-Event

GeocachingEnvironmental Science Geocaching
Join fellow environmental science teachers for this fun activity and pick up some classroom ideas along the way! You'll use a GPS unit to explore the woods and lakeshore while participating in forestry, soils, and wildlife activities along the way. Environmental science concepts will be woven throughout this treasure hunt. No prior experience necessary. Have fun, network, and enjoy the outdoors.

When
Monday, August 18th
Dinner - 5:00 - 6:00 pm
Geocaching - 6:00 pm until dusk (approx.2 hours)
Campfire Social - dusk until ?

Nature TrailWhere
The event will be held at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) in Amherst Junction. CWES is a teaching and learning center located 19 miles east of Stevens Point, on glacial Sunset Lake. More about CWES

Costs
There is no cost for the geocaching event and campfire social. All Summit participants are welcome to participate.
Dinner at CWES is available for $7.50
Lodging and breakfast at CWES is $24.00 per person - More Information

Accommodations
A great way to enjoy the beautiful setting of CWES is to spend the night. We encourage out of town guests to take advantage of a special lodging and meal package. More Information To register for the package please indicate your interest on the registration form.
