Area of Research
My research is directed towards studying the influence of topography on hydrologic processes including groundwater discharge (and recharge), runoff generation, and nutrient transport. I am investigating the use of topographic indices as a predictor of these processes in Northern Wisconsin.
I am currently working on a “State of the Watershed” project for the St. Croix River Headwaters. The purpose of this study is to characterize the local water quality and watershed hydrology to assists citizens, municipalities and agencies to link land use management and water resource quality. The
Upper St. Croix Watershed Alliance, a coalition of local lake and river organizations, is actively participating in the study.
