YMCA AmeriCorps Program Leader
Camp Minikani, Southeast WI
The Program Leader will assist with the execution of all Environmental and Adventure Education crucial to the success of Camp's programs for schools, youth, and adult participants. Through enhancements to the natural environment of Camp Minikani the Program Leader will provide service that will affect the local and regional community of Southeastern Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead activities for the wide variety of community participants, including but not limited to: teaching environmental education, facilitating high ropes, climbing wall and teambuilding, life guarding, or leading pony rides.
2. Assist with the development and implementation of a wide variety of Camp programs and activities.
3. Lead Camp Minikani's seasonal programming, such as Maple Syruping, Holiday Cookie House, and more.
4. Plant trees and assist with environmental enhancement projects.
5. Other work projects throughout Camp and Greater Milwaukee.

Executive Director
Quarry Hill Nature Center, Rochester, MN

Position Description: Quarry Hill Nature Center seeks an executive director. Quarry Hill is a nature center situated on a 320 acre city park, with a pond, trails, sandstone caves, and fossil beds. It has a yearly visitation of around 80,000 persons, and year-round programming for children and adults. The new executive director will work both as an educator and an administrator, and will need to oversee the daily operations as well as provide long-term vision for the organization. The new executive director will be the liaison to the Board, supervise a staff of 10-15 employees, oversee the budget, and help develop program offerings. The new executive director will manage relationships with our community partners and lead the annual campaign and other fundraising initiatives. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate would be a naturalist or environmental sciences educator, preferably with current or past teaching license; would have leadership experience with a non-profit organization; and would have fundraising or grant writing experience.

Assistant Outdoor Educator Coordinator
Northern Illinois University, Lorado Taft Campus
Responsibilities: Coordinate resident outdoor education experiences for elementary and middle school groups, and summer conference groups; train and mentor Program Specialists; teach classes in the outdoor environment; develop curricula and instructional materials for use by Program Specialists (teaching staff) and visiting teachers; and maintain and improve teaching areas. This person will also share manager-on-duty functions with two other people, which requires residence on campus. An apartment is made available.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, administration, natural sciences or related field; minimum of two years experience in outdoor/environmental education, leadership of youth program, residential programs, nature centers, or other related outdoor programs. Experience in training staff in the outdoor environment, natural resource management experience and Master’s degree preferred.
Benefits: Mid 20’s salary; on-site apartment and meals when the dining hall is in operation; full benefit package, including paid holiday, retirement, health, vision, and dental. A background check is required.

Education Program Specialist

Responsibilities:
D
evelop and teach classes in the outdoor environment to students in the 4th to 8th grades, develop curricula, participate in staff training prior to teaching, assist in the coordination of the residential environmental education program, and care for a project area. Two Saturdays per year of leading groups on the challenge course with the conference program are required. Additional optional weekend opportunities exist.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working or participating in outdoor/environmental education or recreation activities. Prior experience working with children in the role of teacher, coach, mentor, counselor, or related situations. Degree in education, science, history, or related field preferred.
