Making our Schools Green and Healthy
Dates:
January 27-29, 2006
Location:
Treehaven - Tomahawk, WI
Summary:
The 2006 WAEE Winter Workshop focused on "Making our
Schools Green and Healthy." Helping our schools to become a model of
what it means to be green and healthy provides us with an
opportunity to influence not just students and school employees, but
the entire local community on how to tread lightly on the earth and
reduce our ecological footprint.
Empowering teachers with the tools they need to incorporate
education for sustainability into their classrooms. Improving
schools both inside the classroom and out through sustainable
technologies and practices which provide students immersion in
hands-on learning experiences. Equipping schools with the
knowledge necessary to become part of the Wisconsin Green and
Healthy Schools Program. Inspiring communities to go beyond
just books and classrooms, transforming entire schools into green
and healthy spaces where sustainable learning can commence.
