Upcoming Member Outings
Member Outings are a great way to explore Wisconsin and socialize with like-minded people. Activities during each outing vary and include cave tours, guided canoe paddles, and overnight experiences. Adults, children, WAEE members, and non-members are all welcome to participate. Look in the monthly WAEE Newsletter or check back to this website for announcements and registration information for the next regional member outing!

Cave Tour and Fossil Hunt
July 19, 2008, 9:30 am - 2 pm
Visit Ledge View Nature Center in Chilton for a down and dirty
introduction to cave exploration! Learn
the geology, biology, and human history of the caves, and
(optional) challenge yourself by crawling
through passages. Please wear old clothes, dress in layers, and
bring a flashlight. You’ll learn the
basics of sedimentary geology and even go on a fossil hunt!
Lunch is on your own but morning
refreshments will be provided.

Host an Outing
WAEE received a Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) grant in 2007-08 to host five regional member outings. The Outings are an opportunity for WAEE Organizational Members to showcase their site and network with other EE professionals, both members and non-members of WAEE, and to meet face to face with regional WAEE Board representatives. Outing hosts fill out and submit a WAEE Member Outing Host Application to WAEE’s Administrative Assistant, and the WAEE Membership Committee works with the host to advertise and register participants for each outing. WEEB funds enable WAEE to produce publicity materials for each outing, send confirmation information to registered participants, and provide refreshments for the networking/social hour.

Benefits to being a host:
- FUN!
- Expose your school, nature center, museum, park, school
forest, and more to WAEE and community members.
- Share a new program, exhibit, trail, building, and more with
fellow EE colleagues.
- Network with EE individuals on-site at your location.
How you can host an outing:
1. Contact WAEE with your Member Outing idea.
2. Fill out a Member Outing request form.
3. Assist WAEE in inviting local stakeholders of the EE
community to the outing.
4. Attend the outing and have fun!
