WAEE Fall Conference 2009 Call for
Presenters

WAEE
invites you to present at this year’s Fall Conference,
October 21-24, 2009. The conference will be held at the
Ramada Convention Center in Eau Claire, WI. The theme is
“Keeping the EE in Green: To Learn, To Live, To Act.” We
will investigate how we as educators and professionals
can be a part of the ever growing “Green” movement.
Proposals are being sought from individuals of all ages,
including students (K-12 & college) and retirees.

WAEE Fall Conference Seeking Sponsors
This year's WAEE Fall Conference "Keeping the EE Green:
To Learn, To Live, To Act" taking place October 21-24 in
Eau Claire, WI is a great opportunity to show your
support for "green" education in Wisconsin. With many
different support levels WAEE has something for everyone
and each comes with many ways to help promote your
corporation or organization. Money received from
sponsors helps to keep conference costs at an extreme
low for students, covers the costs for speakers, field
trips, facility fees, entertainment and enables WAEE to
maintain the excellent level of presentations and
professional development opportunities that have been
offered in the past.

2009 WAEE and School Forest Awards
Nominations Sought
WAEE’s awards program exists to recognize and encourage
excellence in the field of environmental education.
Nominations are being sought for the following awards:
Earthguard, Student, Educator of the Year, Aldo Leopold,
WAEE, and School Forest. To nominate a candidate, class,
or youth group, download the form, complete it, and
return it to WAEE by September 25, 2009.

2009 Midwest Environmental Education
Conference

The
Environmental Education Association of Illinois (EEAI)
is proud to announce the 2009 Midwest Environmental
Education Conference, Climbing the Green Wall, in
Champaign-Urbana, Illinois October 14-17, 2009.
“Climbing the Green Wall,” addresses the fact that all
environmental educators struggle to overcome certain
barriers or walls in their career. Four commonly
identified limitations within the field of environmental
education were selected by the conference committee:
Administration, Interpretation, Natural History, and
Sustainability.
Invigorating workshops and concurrent sessions will be
held each day of the conference, in conjunction with
Field Sessions led by Illinois Natural History Survey
Scientists.
