Young Wisconsin Conservationist Program of the Izaak Walton
League
The Wisconsin Division of the Izaak
Walton League has developed a program to encourage and assist
K-12 school classes and organizations to carry out
environmental and conservation activities. We will provide up
to $200/project in funding for worthwhile projects. This will
free them from having to spend valuable time in fundraising.
These funds may be used for a variety of
purposes so long as they are legitimate expenses in getting a
project completed. For instance, the funds could be used to
purchase equipment and supplies, for travel to get to project
locations, and even for food to provide lunch for projects that
take more than 4 hours to complete. However, the project must
be a hands-on project that will benefit the environment. Field
trips will not be funded unless the students are accomplishing a
worthwhile project.
To submit a request for funding, print out
and complete the
application and send it to the address on the form.
Funding is limited and your requests will
be reviewed by a conservation committee. Please submit your
requests at least 4 weeks before your project to allow time to
review it and inform you if funding is going to be available.
If you have any questions about whether a
project would qualify, the status of your application, or other
questions about this program, please contact Lyle Nauman at
715/592-4888 or
lnauman@uwsp.edu.
