Master Woodland Steward Program....

     Wisconsin's Master Woodland Steward Program is for woodland owners interested in learning more about their woodlands and sustainable forest management practices. The Master Woodland Steward Program combines classroom instruction and outdoor experiences to teach participants the basics of forest ecology, silvicultural techniques, managing for aesthetics, recreation and wildlife habitat, business decision and planning tools as well as sources for technical and financial assistance.

     Whether your forestland provides profit or pleasure you can gain valuable skills and knowledge that will help you become a better steward of your woodlands.

     Graduates of the Master Woodland Steward program are required to contribute at least 30 hours of volunteer service back to their community to help raise awareness about forest stewardship and sustainable forest management with their neighbors.

Painting the Pond:  Water, Sky & Reflections with Brad Davis

Take part in a day of painting outside by the pond at Treehaven. This class will focus on painting

ponds, how artists are inspired and influenced by water, the sky and reflections, and how to capture

this on the canvas. Participants will have the opportunity to improve their painting techniques

and skills, as well as develop new ideas and ways of working.

18th Annual Summer BOW Workshop

The Original BOW with over 20 different hands-on activities including archery, canoeing, survival, shotgun skills, map and compass, fly fishing, outdoor cooking and more.

Experience the flow, glow and unique properties of watercolor paint in a freeing technique that

requires no previous skills. Plants and other materials will be used to make two types of simple

prints.

Learn about the materials and basic techniques that are the foundation of watercolor painting. This class is meant for those with no experience in the medium or the artist who finds watercolor frustrating and confusing. We will cover how to handle your equipment, produce flat, graded, and random washes, glazing, drypoint, masking, lifting, pouring, setting up for a painting and more.

Parent and Kids Snowshoe Weekend

Children and their parent(s) or guardian(s) are invited to an outdoor adventure for a fun-filled winter weekend of family snowshoeing to learn the basic skills needed for this popular sport. Join in the excitement of games on snowshoes, enjoy an invigorating snowshoe hike through a Northwoods forest, and relax in the evening to stories by a warming campfire.

The latest information about the timber wolf in Wisconsin will be provided. Learn about wolf ecology and society, pack structure, predator-prey relationship, and about the past, present, and future of the wolf, including the myths and misunderstandings.

Leadership Development: Group Process and Facilitation Workshop

Leadership Development is designed to enhance the skills and attributes of today’s leader in education, natural resources, non-profits and small business while preparing for tomorrow’s increasing challenges. This course is grounded in effective principles with emphasis on practical applications.  We will concentrate on effective techniques for group creative brainstorming, decision making, and prioritization of ideas. Nominal group and consensus building skills. Activities to simulate and apply the techniques.
