The Maintenance Supervisor Intern supervises 10-20 student employees in the general maintenance of Schmeeckle Reserve. Maintenance employees are responsible for the upkeep and land management of the natural area.

Specific duties include:

• Interviewing, hiring, and scheduling employees.

• Developing a work plan for maintenance staff to complete daily tasks and projects in an efficient manner.

• Research, plan, and coordinate new development projects, including trails, boardwalks, bridges, benches, and landscaping.

• Supervise the construction of cedar signs.

• Supervise land management projects, such as invasive species removal, prescribed burns, flora and fauna research.

• Supervise construction and maintenance of trails and rustic structures.

• Supervise general facility maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and repairing.
