Free Admission. Arrive and leave
when you like!
Buzz on
down to Schmeeckle Reserve and
discover the creaking, flashing,
fluttering insects that come out
in the dark.
Walk a
one-mile path lit by
Jack-o-Lanterns and torches
through the autumn woods and
along the lake.
Special Program:
“Insects of the Night"
Presented at 7 p.m.
and 8 p.m. at the
campfire ring.
When the sun sets,
Schmeeckle Reserve
springs to life with the
romantic blinking of
fireflies, a serenade of
crickets, and the soft
flutter of moths. Meet
the nighttime insects
who
call
Schmeeckle home and
discover how they thrive
in the dark.
A fun and interactive
program for all ages!

katydids based on their
calls. Observe feathery
moth antennae close up.
Discover the secrets of
making cold light.

staff.

Snacks:
Make your own
six-legged crafts to bring home
and eat like bug.
