The Browse Shop is a small nature-oriented gift shop located in the Schmeeckle Reserve visitor center. The Shop carries a variety of merchandise including Schmeeckle logo items, local artists' crafts and photographs, clothing, bird feeders, stuffed animals, games, and puzzles. The Browse Shop is especially known for its large selection of books, carrying everything from field guides to Wisconsin-specific books. This position is a great opportunity to build your resume and enhance the image and sales of the gift shop, while working for a well-known and respected natural area.

Specific duties include:

• Conduct periodic physical inventories of the shop

• Compile simple sales reports

• Select and order thematic merchandise (always encouraged to try selling new items)

• Create and implement marketing strategies

• Maintain inventory and prices in QuickBooks software and update cash register

• Design attractive displays for merchandise

• Communicate and train office staff employees on shop procedures

• Self-starter comfortable with working independently

• Responsible and dependable

Preferred Experience:

• Retail or sales experience

• Supervisory/managerial experience

• Marketing experience
