Artists, painters, woodworkers, and graphic designers work in several small businesses that support Schmeeckle Reserve. Our staff sculpts wildlife out of wood, paints  natural landscapes, and designs full-color interpretive signs and brochures. Creativity is essential, and past experience with realistic nature-oriented art is preferred.

Specific duties include:

• Cedar signs: develop full-size digital layouts, paint detailed, realistic wildlife, plants, and habitats, carve and sculpt realistic natural scenes, create sketches

• Interpretive media: design and produce posters, brochures, booklets, newsletters, signs, and marketing materials

• Photography and scanning: take digital photos for use in projects or add to library, scan historic and recent slides and pictures for digital library

• Illustration: Illustrate natural and cultural history topics for signs and other media

• Maintenance: This position will also help with some maintenance duties, depending on current projects.
