EE Capacity Building

EE Capacity Building is the development of effective leaders, organizations, networks, plans and evaluation in order to achieve comprehensive environmental education programs at the state and local levels.

The original definition of EE capacity building developed by NEEAP should be expanded to include evaluation.  On one hand, we need to master the theory and tools of evaluation to know whether or not the EE initiatives (components of comprehensive EE programs) achieved are being fully implemented and together are resulting in increased environmental literacy.  On the other hand, we need to utilize the tools of evaluation to conduct our capacity building programs such as the EETAP States Program and to develop sustainable organizations and effective leaders.
