The theme of the 1999 NAAEE Conference is Linking EE with Education Reform. There will be many capacity building activities, including those of NEEAP and the NAAEE Affiliates Partnership. Remember, early bird registration ends July 16, 1999.

Pre-Conference Organizational Development Workshop (Thurs., August 26 - Fri., August 27)Join EE leaders from other state/provincial organizations in identifying ways to solve pressing issues. Large and small group discussion formats, as well as individual team planning time, will allow your team the opportunity to transform ideas into action. There is no fee for members of the NAAEE Affiliates or NEEAP EE2000 states.

Opening Night - Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too! (Fri., August 27, 8:30 PM )After the opening remarks, everyone will be invited to attend the Affiliates reception. Tables will be available to display your Affiliate booth and materials. Each NAAEE Affiliate is invited to present a cake that displays the "theme" of their state/province! EE and Ed Reform Efforts Boosted Through State Capacity Building Programs - Concurrent Session (Sat., August 28, 10:15-11:00 AM)While achieving comprehensive EE programs, 12 states involved in the National EE Advancement Project's EE 2000 Program partnered with education reform leaders. Learn about the connection between EE/Ed reform and EE capacity building in CA, IL, and NM.
An Organizational Assessment Tool to Enhance Education Reform - Concurrent Session (Sat., August 28, 2:00-2:45 PM)Effective EE organizations are fundamental partners in EE capacity building and education reform efforts. An organizational assessment tool (OAT) was developed by NEEAP to assist in EE organizational development. The research behind the OAT will be presented.
Who Ever Heard of Free Consultants: Look to the New EE Barter Network - Hands-on Session (Mon., August 30, 3:00-4:45 PM)A new initiative, the EE Barter Network, has increased the capacity building achievements of state, regional and national organizations. Come learn and dialogue about how this project can support EE initiatives including those linking EE and education reform.
NAAEE Capacity Building Commission (to be announced)Are you interested in finding out what EE capacity building activities state and national partners are up to? Do you want to help set concerted direction for capacity building in our field? The NAAEE Capacity Building Commission is the place to achieve these objectives and more.
Affiliate Business Meeting (to be announced)This event is sure to be educational as well as entertaining. In addition to the regular business agenda, there may also be a command performance by the "Three Banderos". (They first appeared at the Spring Leadership Clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.)
EE 2000 Business Meeting (to be announced)All representatives of EE 2000 states are welcome to attend this general "house keeping" meeting and update on capacity building services for the EE 2000 Program.
