The following information is provided to you as a service of the National
Environmental Education Advancement Project (NEEAP). We encourage you to use it and
please credit the National Environmental Education
Advancement Project where appropriate.
The Center for Environmental Education (CEE) has moved to Antioch New England Graduate
School and brought along a significant library of environmental titles, childrens
nature literature, videos and EE curriculum. CEE will continue to connect people with EE
resources, materials and organizations with a greater degree of accessibility and depth
since its association with Antioch.
As resources are cataloged into the Antioch collection they will become available through
interlibrary loans and referenced through the Antioch NE Library Website/Catalog or
through the CEE Website. Each of the 900 curricula titles will be presented in full text,
when appropriate and possible, for use by educators. Each curricula will be reviewed using
the Guidelines for Excellence developed by NAAEE and matched to State Frameworks for
Science, Math and Social Studies.
CEE is still the home of several Ecological Literacy Initiatives that foster student
leadership, environmental awareness, service learning and a healthier school and community
environment.
These include:
Peer Partners in Environmental Education -- a West Coast program that trains high school students to work in elementary settings as environmental educators
CoSeed -- a program which builds a coalition of community members, school personnel and environmental educators to help schools restructure their curriculum, buildings and school grounds from an ecological perspective
The Healthy Schools Initiative -- an initiative that uses a team approach to involve students in environmental audits and action projects to begin the greening process of schools on-site.
Access the Center by phone (603) 355-3251 or email: cee@antiochne.edu. The new web site at www.cee-ane.org will be able to connect you to all kinds of exciting and useful environmental resources such as the Chase Collection, the Antioch New England Graduate School library, CEEs Grapevine and the North Country resource page for teachers.
