NEEAP Launches EE 2000 Conferencing Site
The Environmental Education Advocate - Summer 1997
The following information is provided to you as a service of the National Environmental Education Advancement Project (NEEAP). We encourage you to use it and please credit the National Environmental Education Advancement Project where appropriate.
The EE 2000 Conferencing Site was launched on May 15 to serve as an "electronic discussion room" where any member can ask questions, respond with answers, or provide updates on their state EE 2000 program. For those familiar with the latest computer terms, it is set up as a "List Serve". The members of the EE 2000 Conferencing Site include the 12 EE 2000 states, national partners, contacts in the 14 EE 2000 Associates states, and NEEAP staff.
The site is designed to be used for several purposes including:
1) to ask a critical question for state capacity building.
2) to ask for help/advice from state and national contacts.
3) to provide information on new sources of funding, resources,
contacts or late breaking stories.
4) to announce and celebrate successes.
Within the first week, the site sparked a flurry of activity surrounding questions posed by team members from North Dakota and Alabama. This new communication tool promises to be a tremendous mechanism for facilitating dialog and networking between state EE leaders working towards state capacity building for environmental education.
