EETAP has added a new partner to the consortium. According to the EETAP workplan, "Project Del Rio, based in New Mexico, is a binational EE program involving U.S. and Mexico secondary students throughout the Rio Grande watershed. The project introduces students to the study of real world environmental issues through the collection and analysis of water quality data and community action research projects. The goals of Project del Rio are to improve science skills, raise awareness of environmental issues, motivate and empower students to become effective participants in community affairs, promote international cooperation of shared resources, and enhance career opportunities for students, especially for minority and low income students." Project del Rio will be working with EETAP to provide teacher training, assessment, community involvement, administrative support and outreach to Spanish speakers. This new partner will add much to the training and capacity building efforts of EETAP. Welcome aboard! To find out more about Project del Rio, contact Director Lisa LaRoque,1494A S.
