All interested K-12 formal and nonformal educators with a special interest in EE are invited to discuss "State Strategies for Implementing Environmental Education in K-12 Curricula" on Thursday, December 3, 1998 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm CST. SEER Report
A research report was recently released by the State Education and Environment Roundtable (SEER). The report is titled "Closing the Achievement Gap: Using the Environment as an Integrating Context for Learning." It presents the results of SEER's three year study of 40 schools across the United States that are using the environment as a context for their educational practices. AOL Foundation Grants for Interactive Education
America Online will award up to $7,500 each to 54 groups of educators in a new program that supports interactive technology use in K-12 classrooms across the country. Besides the cash outlays, the Interactive Education Initiative provides awardees with technical assistance, curriculum assistance and free AOL accounts. Chevron Corporate Grants NewsChevron grants awards are available to United States and international programs in education (with specific emphasis on math and science education) and the environment.
