Purpose
The purpose of the 2005 EETAP Leadership Clinic is to broaden support to state and provincial environmental education capacity building teams. The clinic agenda is participant-driven around the needs of teams and individuals. Representatives of the eight EETAP States and national partners will share their experiences developing critical EE initiatives that:

1) "Raise the bar" on the quality and amount of EE training

  • EE Certification
  • Preservice EE Training
  • Regional Delivery Networks

2) Increase outreach and access to EE

  • Programs that Target Culturally Diverse Communities
  • Searchable Online EE Directories

3) Develop leadership and community within the EE field

  • Comprehensive Statewide EE Plans
  • Sustainable EE Associations
  • Teacher and Teacher Trainer Networks

This gathering of EE leaders will increase our collective understanding and application of strategies to achieve effective EE programs and ultimately environmental literacy and stewardship.

Team Support
Each 4-person team will receive the following:
  • FREE registration
  • FREE lodging for 5 nights
  • FREE meals and snacks
  • FREE shuttle service to and from the airport

Each team will be responsible for raising funds to support their travel to attend the 2005 EETAP Leadership Clinic.

There will be 8 travel scholarships of $200 each available on an as needed basis...see application for details.

Selection Criteria
Fourteen state and provincial teams of 4 members each will be chosen. Teams will be selected based on how well they meet the following criteria:

  • have clear and realistic goals for building EE capacity in their state or province through 2008.

  • have clear and realistic goals of what their team plans to accomplish at the clinic.

  • explain how the cultural, professional and geographical composition of their team best represents their state or province and the team�s goals.

  • describe how their team is representative of a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • make a case for why they believe their state or province is particularly poised to make the most of the clinic.

Please meet as a team prior to applying for the 2005 EETAP Leadership Clinic.
