23-24 "WHO OWNS America? IV:  Land Acquisition and Retention"
On the University of Wisconsin-Madison Campus, Madison, WI.
This conference is fourth in a series established in 1995 by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Land Tenure Center's North American Program.
This fourth conference addresses land acquisition and retention issues such as fractionation (heir property), land titling, inheritance, and management.  The focus is on those who are often excluded, marginalized, unequally served, or have limited participation in setting public policy.
The conference Agenda is grounded in the growing realization that problems experienced in specific communities are not necessarily unique, and that all communities and peoples can benefit from learning how others are meeting the challenge of land acquisition and retention.
