Day 1: Wednesday, Sponsored by University of Wisconsin-Extension, Bad River Casino/Convention Center, Odanah, WI, Natural Resource Considerations in Community Planning Workshop
This workshop costs $15 for lunch, break refreshments and materials.

Day 2: Thursday, Sponsored by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program and Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Bad River Casino/Convention Center, Odanah, WI, �Superior Communities: Successful Coastal Management on Lake Superior."
This workshop is free. 
Sessions will explore success stories of northern Wisconsin and Lake Superior communities that have addressed environmental and development challenges. Hear about waterfront renewal, coastal erosion, habitat restoration, Great Lakes education, and preventing polluted runoff.

Day 3: Friday, Sponsored by the Lake Superior Binational Forum, Bad River Casino/Convention Center, Odanah, WI, �Living on the Edge: Human Impacts on Lake Superior�s Rivers and Streams� Workshop.
This workshop is free.  Morning Theme:  Impacts from human activities on streams and shorelines.  Afternoon Theme:  Tools and success stories that protect riparian areas and shorelines.  The Lake Superior Binational Forum and this workshop are funded by a grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Anticipated cost of the program to cover meals and breaks to be approx. $15/day or $30.00 total.

Access to Wisconsin Data Online Workshop at Wisconsin Geographical Society Conference.
Please join us for a workshop on how to access Wisconsin data online. It will be held on Friday, 19 September from 1:00 - 2:45 p.m. in Room 186, Phillips Hall, on the UW Eau Claire campus, as part of the 57th annual meeting of the Picture (16x16, 386 bytes) Wisconsin Geographical Society.

Topics include Wisconsin Maps and Aerial Photos from the State Cartographer's Office, the Archaeological and Historical Resource Database (WisAHRD) at the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Aquatic and Terrestrial Resources Inventory (ATRI) and the Natural Heritage Inventory (NHI) at the Department of Natural Resources, Mineral Resource Digital Map and Database Products at the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey, and TIGER 2000 Files and other data at the Department of Administration. A more detailed description of these  topics is attached for your information.

Six presenters from these state agencies will explain and demonstrate how to access their agency's data online. If workshop participants want to explore these online data sources in more detail, the computer lab will remain open for another hour after the presentations, until 4:00 p.m. A small fee of $5 will be charged to cover the costs of copying materials.
