Effective fall of 2001, UWSP is requiring all incoming Land Use Planning undergraduate students to earn credits in an internship experience. The goal of this internship is to gain valuable professional and practical experience in the field of land use planning. This internship will primarily be done in their junior year of college. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and potential employers alike.

Local officials interested in hiring an intern should plan for necessary funding in the budget cycle and contact Dr. Anna Haines, Ph.D., at 715-346-2386.

Examples of intern projects include:  assembling and analyzing data for the required comprehensive planning elements such as issues and opportunities and the agricultural and natural resources element, preparing educational pieces important to a planning and/or zoning office, or helping with enforcement and inspection of zoning and other ordinances.
