Wildlife Education Internships
The following are current intern positions that have been advertised that should be taken for credit. More will be probably be advertised in the next several weeks and I will update this file as I receive them. New positions for 2006 will be listed in the upper section. Older positions from last year for which no new announcement has been received are still listed below FYI.
Make sure that you pay special attention to the requested application materials. Some ask for a resume, cover letter, or application form. Also note the deadline listed for each position and have your application turned in on time. In some instances the agency may want to do a phone interview, personal interview (here or at the agency) and the notification process will vary with different agencies.
If you are offered a job you will need to fill out the CNR Internship application which you can download from this website. Download an application form and complete it using your computer. Please e-mail your application to me (attach the application as a word document) at: tginnett@uwsp.edu.
It may be possible for students to initiate their own internship. This might be especially attractive to some students if they could live at home while working to save costs. If you are interested in doing an internship with a particular agency (private, state, municipal or federal) that you are familiar with you must provide the Dr. Ginnett with the name and phone number of an agency contact person. He will then contact the agency to determine if they would be receptive to participating in the UWSP internship program and can facilitate the process of establishing the position.
