Willowbrook is an
educational wildlife rehabilitation center located in the western suburbs of
Fellowship Positions and Descriptions: All fellowships
are 40 hrs/wk for 12 consecutive weeks and must be completed between May and
September 2005. Keeper Fellowships (2 positions)
O- Keeper Fellows gain hands-on experience in wildlife rehabilitation and
captive rearing of native species, including the nutritional, housing, and
behavioral aspects of rehabilitating wildlife for release. Education
Fellowship (1 position) – The Education
Fellow will gain practical experience by observing and participating in some
or all of the following facets of Willowbrook’s education program: leading youth nature clubs; planning,
construction, and maintenance of exhibits; contacts with visitors; and
presentation of nature programs. Project
Fellowship (1 position) –The Project
Fellow will participate in numerous aspects of 2 ongoing projects involving
endangered and threatened species:
reintroduction of Blanding’s turtles and Barn Owls. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to field tracking and observations, data entry and organization, care
and husbandry of captive animals. Fellows are
compensated for their work at a rate of $7.50/hr and salaries are subject to
payroll taxes. Fellows must provide
their own housing and transportation. APPLICATION
