Description of internship: Gain practical experience caring for captive wildlife, including grizzly bear, wolves, cougars, and Canadian Lynx. Experiences will include, but are not limited to, animal handling and restraint, preparing and feeding diets, basic husbandry, including training and enrichment, record keeping, preventive medicine and disease treatment, and other zoo operation topics. Experience: Hard-working, professional minded student who wants to gain on-the-job experience as an animal care intern in a zoo setting. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions. Willingness to work independently is essential. Pay: $7.25/hr. Duration: Work 40 hrs/week for 520 hrs during 23 May - around 4 September 2005. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 17 March 2006.
