US Fish and Wildlife Service Internship Coordinates and
conducts visitor use surveys; assists in development of refuge interpretive
displays and environmental education materials; performs routine maintenance
on visitor use facilities; conducts trail maintenance to include such things
as litter pickup, brush clearing, and sign placement/ removal. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in
all types of weather. Interns may be
subject of inclement weather, sunburn, minor cuts, bruises and insect bites. The work involves bending, walking and a
moderate amount of physical exertion.
Interns may be required to list objectives weighing to\p to 50 pounds
and to use all types of simple hand tools when performing general
maintenance. Experience: General
knowledge of the principles of interpretation and natural history to enable
intern to understand and perform assigned duties; public speaking skill or
the ability and develop this skill. Pay: Volunteer Duration: 6-10-wk commitment,
40 hrs/wk. Usual tour of duty will be
from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M-F. Some
evenings, early mornings and weekends required. APPLICATION
