Northwoods Wildlife Center, Minocqua, WI
Interns will be involved in all phases of wildlife rehabilitation, including emergency care, daily feeding and cleaning, rehabilitation, and releases. This includes care of non-releasable animals kept at the Center for educational purposes. Interns will also work with visitors who wish to tour the Center, and will assist in programs given at other locations. Interns will also help in the development of further educational opportunities for the public. The position will be approximately 1/2 wildlife rehabilitation and 1/2 public education. Experience: Applicants should have a strong interest in wildlife and the environment, and a desire to increase public awareness through education. Students in Biology, Wildlife Ecology, Pre-vet, Environmental Education, and related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have at least one year of college experience. Amenities: Interns are provided with on-site housing and receive a $50/wk stipend. Interns should have their own transportation, but a vehicle is provided for all center business. Duration: April 15th through May 31st for spring interns, June 1st through August 31st for summer interns, and September 1st through October 15th for fall interns.
