Madison Audubon Society Restoration Ecology internships

Spend the summer in the field where you will gain hands-on experience with broad scale landscape restoration and management, including work in parairie, savanna, woodland, and wetland habitats.  In the process you will larn to identify both native and alien plants and about their life cycles and ecological requirements; learn to observe what natural conditions and processes have been altered in an landscape and how one goes about restoration them to desired conditions; learn the methods of invasive species control, gain an understanding of management objectives and how they are developed for a variety of sites.  Interns work as a team or teams, rotating daily between various locations within 40 miles of Madison.  Eight to 12 internships available for summer 2005. Experience:  Must be enrolled in a cooperating college or university.  Academic credit may be available for participation in the program; each interns is responsible for making academic credit arrangements with his/her university.
