Lincoln Park Zoo, Manitowoc WI

Perform repetitive manual tasks in feeding, cleaning up after and tending to the general health, condition and welfare of all species of animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo.  Examples of assignments include the following:  Planning and preparing diets, behavioral studies and observations, animal grooming, record keeping, lawn and facilities maintenance, enforcing rules and regulations, opening and closing the zoo, creating brochures, maps, and pamphlets, developing and presenting educational programs, speak to civic groups, and conduct tours.  Working hours will be on an assigned schedule any day of the week including weekends and holidays; an average of 40 per week will be scheduled.  An internship project is required.   Experience:  Prefer Juniors or Seniors who have a career interest in working in zoos.   Must want to work with animals, be willing to interact positively with the public and be able and willing to maintain the facility (i.e., grounds maintenance, exhibit repair/modification, restroom cleaning, etc.).   Pay:  $7.25 Duration:  Memorial Day to Labor Day.   APPLICATION DEADLINE:  28 February 2005.
