Application Process
As new positions become available you can view and download the position document and download an application form and complete it using your computer. Please bring to my office or CNR mailbox 3 complete hard copies of your intern application. I also need to know about positions that you are directly applying for yourselves. You can just email me and let me know what positions you are applying for. You can also arrange your own internship with an agency if you have contacts. After you have discussed the possibility of an internship with an agency it is very important for you to discuss the opportunity with me and provide me with the names and phone numbers of the agency contact person. I will call the agency and make arrangements to the set up the internship and provide the University linkage.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Make sure that you pay special attention to the application deadline listed for each position and have your application turned in on time. Item 14 on the application form requests that you rank your preference for an internship and you can do that by recording the position number listed below. Also please make sure that you check off whether or not you would be willing to be considered for other intern positions under item 15. Make sure that you include your e-mail address on the bottom of the first page of the application. In some instances the agency may want to do a phone interview, personal interview (here or at the agency) so the notification process will vary with different agencies. I will include any required materials in addition to the Water application form in the position descriptions listed below. In some cases the agency may want you to apply directly to them and they may have different applications forms you will need to get from them or me to apply for the position. I will indicate how to apply for a position at the bottom of the position listing. Please pay special attention to this. OTHERWISE ALL APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SENT TO ME. In addition to the general application form I strongly recommend including a Letter of Intent and a resume. This will personalize your application and make it more attractive. I also have posted on the spiral binder outside my office (CNR 331) listings of national internships available. These positions are open to anyone in the US and are located throughout the country.
