This poster session is a unique opportunity for your students to participate in a public water conference, and to present their individual or class findings on water-related issues to water professionals from across the state. A limited number of scholarships are available to students and teachers to attend the Waters of Wisconsin Forum, hosted by the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. The student poster session will take place from 1:35 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21—the first day of this two-day forum. Your students will have the opportunity to participate in the other conference sessions including small group discussions. This is a great learning experience and leadership opportunity for your students.
For more information about the student poster session contact Al Stenstrup, Chair of the Waters of Wisconsin Student Poster Session and Education Outreach Coordinator at DNR, at stensa@dnr.state.wi.us or at 608-264-6282.
Water is a vital resource for all living things in our state—but Wisconsin currently lacks a comprehensive, long-term water policy. The Waters of Wisconsin initiative of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters has been working for the past two years with experts from all sides of water use and conservation. At the statewide public forum, these experts will come together with the general public to discuss these challenges and to evaluate a formal report, guidelines, and policy recommendations. Participants also will celebrate water as we enjoy it in all aspects of our lives through fieldtrips, poetry and art.
Please join us on
October 21-22, 2002 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison for a
solution-oriented discussion about a resource that is vital to all of us! For
