The GEM Student Ambassador Program(GEM-SAP) is a project of the Global Environmental Management Education Center(GEM) in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The program was developed to provide transformative learning enrichment opportunities for capable and motivated CNR students in programs and activities related to the GEM mission primarily with GEM's international partners. As such, projects are designed to include cultural immersion experiences and contribute to GEM projects. The GEM Mission - pioneering and applying practical learning methods and technology to solve natural resource problems by linking faculty, students, and citizens worldwide. GEM ambassadorships provide experiential learning opportunities focused on sustainable natural resources management and community based sustainable development. They may involve applied research, outreach education, internships, and/or other innovative learning enrichment activities. Awards cover all project expenses including transportation, room and board, supplies, and medical insurance. Contact Ron Tschida for program information or comments.
