Resources (CNR), University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). He
specializes in Parks
and Recreation encompassing areas of study in Forest Recreation,

practical work experience
within his curriculum. In classes such as Forest Recreation Planning &
Site Design and Forest Recreation Management he consults with his
students as they
develop problem-solving projects with a variety of resource management
agencies. Often, the results of their efforts produce quality materials
utilized by
those same agencies including site designs, surveys, training programs,
employee manuals, brochures, feasibility studies, and gift catalogs.
Professor Geesey
also instructs courses in Forest Recreation and Tourism, Recreational
Use of Forest and Parks, Amenity Forestry, Landscape Maintenance and
Arboriculture,
Land Surveying, and Forest Measurements.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Richard Geesey is the
College's Forestry Internship Program Administrator where he coordinates
the Forestry
Department's Intern Program activities. This position requires Dr.
Geesey to be involved in all aspects of the Internship Program from
soliciting internships
from agencies and arranging interviews to establishing internship
requirements and grades to serving as mediator between employer and
intern to performing
on-site visits. His goal as Program Administrator is to manage the
Forestry Intern Program to ensure a positive, beneficial experience for
employer and
intern alike.
Professor Geesey also maintains an excellent repertoire with his
students. Since he is both approachable and knowledgeable, students feel
comfortable with
him as an instructor and an advisor. Currently, he advises undergraduate
and graduate students studying Forest Recreation; Business with a
Tourism and Forest
Recreation Concentration; and/or Environmental Law Enforcement with a
Park Ranger career tract. Dr. Geesey promotes student involvement in
