In the organic section of the lab Bill DeVita , lab manager, trains students using analytical techniques for analyses.   Students will learn to work on analytical instrumentation such as:

Picture (10x15, 809 bytes)   Varian Saturan 2000 Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer with the Saturn System software package. This state-of-the-art mass spectrometer can be used for a wide array of organic compounds such as PCBs, PAHs, and pesticides.

Picture (10x15, 809 bytes)   Tekmar ALS 2000/2016 Purge and Trap system with a Varian 3400 gas chromatograph equipped with Hall electrolytic conductivity, photoionization, and flame ionization detectors.
