At the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES)
you will discover a beautiful and relaxing natural area for study and
enjoyment.
The public is
invited to rent any of our facilities for meetings and special
gatherings.
We have many buildings available for your
group to rent. All visitors staying overnight pay a fee of $17
per person for bunk style lodging.
Linen service is available for an additional $10 per set, although most
groups bring their own sleeping bags and pillows.
Walker
Lodge: This lodge has separate
male and female sleeping bays, restrooms and
showers. It has a small central
meeting area with a sunken fireplace, tables, chairs, sofas, and
wireless Internet. Capacity: 48, Minimum over night fee of $250.
Scandinavian
log cabins (5): Each log cabin sleeps eight people. The restroom/shower
facilities are centrally located just up the path. Electric heat. Minimum
overnight fee of $75 per cabin.
Anderson
Lodge: Central classroom/lounge area plus stove, refrigerator, microwave
and wireless Internet. Wood heat. Restroom, shower, and dish-washing
facilities just up the path. Capacity:
24, Minimum overnight fee of $170
Sunset
Lodge: This is our main dining
and meeting facility that was remodeled in 2006.
It has a beautiful fieldstone fireplace,
wireless Internet, air conditioning,
can seat up to 112 for meals, and has beautiful views of
Sunset
Lake
below. Rental fees are dependent upon group size and usage.

Other Areas of Interest
Trading
Post:
School groups, summer campers and those renting facilities are welcome
to visit our Trading Post, complete with CWES water bottles, compasses,
twig pencils, flashlights, t-shirts, books and more. You can extend the
memories created at CWES with a souvenir!
Firebowl:
Many groups use our main campfire ring that is surrounded by large
trees, near
Sunset
Lake,
and has been used by campers since 1921.
We provide enough firewood for several hours of burning each
night.
Challenge
Course:
With a variety of physically and mentally challenging activities, our
course is sequentially designed to bring your team together. Each group
challenge is set up based on your goals.
Cost: $10 per youth for 2
hours, $15 per person for adult groups.
CWES staff to group ratio approximately
1:12.
Waterfront:
Groups can schedule use of our waterfront for $50 per hour which
includes two lifeguards, use of our swimming area, canoes, and kayaks.
For a group of 50 that comes out to only $1 per person per
hour for private use of our 1/4 mile of
shoreline on beautiful
Sunset
Lake.
Food
Service;
We can provide many entree and snack choices
during your visit.
Meal prices are breakfast $5.50, lunch $6.50,
dinner $7.50 and snack service ranges from $3.00-$5.00.
Lunch and dinner include a full salad bar and dinner includes
a choice of soup.
