| In an instant a windstorm can reshape an entire forest. Windstorms are natural occurrences that quickly change the structure of a forest. Here is an example of what one storm did to a pine plantation in Central Wisconsin in the summer of 2001. These pictures and observations were taken 2 miles south of Waupaca, Wisconsin. | After the storm a logging crew went to the plantation and salvaged the trees the trees that had been knocked down. Now the land can be replanted with new trees. |
