Education and Research Use Application

If you teach classes or conduct research in Schmeeckle Reserve, please complete this form every semester, including summer.  This information will be used to coordinate management, teaching, and research efforts in the Reserve.  If you have any questions about using the Reserve for educational or research activities, please contact us at schmeeckle@uwsp.edu or (715) 346-4992.

  How many people will be attending the class or involved with the research activity?  
       
  Briefly describe the purpose of the educational activity or the research study that you will be conducting.  
       
  List dates and times that you would like to use Schmeeckle Reserve for your class activity or research.  Please be as specific as possible.  
         
  List all of the locations within the Reserve that you would like to use.  
       
  Specifically list any unattended equipment or items (traps, wells, flagging, boards, signs, etc.) that will be left in the Reserve during the dates of use and their location.  All items must have a Permit ID Number clearly visible.  
          
  Will your project or activity involve collecting?  If yes, list what you would like to collect.  All collecting must have prior approval from the director of Schmeeckle Reserve.  
            
  Will you require vehicular access within the Reserve at anytime?  If yes, list dates and locations that you would like to have access.  Vehicle access to trails must have prior approval from the director.  
          
  What environmental impacts or changes, if any, will result from your class or research activity?  
          
  Are federal or state permits required for your activity?  If yes, list the permits that are needed and whether or not they have been obtained.  
         
  Include any additional information that would help Schmeeckle staff to coordinate activities or inform the general public.
