Start studying now, so you are successful at summer camp!

NR 392 Environmental Enforcement Theory and Principles Correction
NR 392 is a required course for the law enforcement major and minor and is a prerequisite to attending police academy (NR 393). If you plan on going to Mid-State Tech or another academy you must take NR 392 next fall. There are a few corrections to what is listed in the timetable for NR 392. The timetable lists Political Science 212 and Sociology 230 as prerequisites to NR 392. This is NOT correct. You need to take one or the other, but not both. The other correction is that the course is listed as having 10 seats. There are actually about 40 seats available. Remember, you must register for this course if you wish to attend police academy.

GIS Pre-registration Mar. 24-Apr. 3

Are you interested in learning more about Forest Certification?
We will be offering a new course in the fall of 2008 Forestry 499 (Section 1) Survey of Forest Certification Systems.  This is a one-credit course that will examine the importance of forest certifications systems in Wisconsin, the role of forest certification systems in the marketplace, a comparison of the different Certifications systems, and how these systems work from initial evaluation, to application, and through audits.  As a part of the class you will have the opportunity to become a Certified Inspector of the American Tree Farm Systems’ Tree Farm Program.

This class will meet on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 13:50.

Wisconsin currently has nearly five million acres enrolled in at least one of the major forest certification systems and Michigan and Minnesota are following our example.  This course will be of value to anyone who is interested in working in the Lake States.  contact John DuPlissis via e-mail at joh.duplissis@uwsp.edu if you have any questions about this course or how to enroll.

Make a Professor Kiss a Pig
That's right! You can vote for one of ten different faculty members to have them actually kiss a pig. Just stop by the Student Success Center (TNR 180) and place a dollar in the envelope of the faculty member of your choice. Whoever gets the most votes will have a delicious date with a fine swine. The kissing of the pig will take place on Wed, Mar. 26 at 5pm. Donations will be accepted until 4pm on that date. Stop by the CNR Student Success Center to see who you can vote for and to place your vote.
