Becoming an Outdoors Woman

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is a non-profit, educational program offering hands-on workshops to adult women. We encourage a supportive environment conducive to learning, making friends, and having fun. No experience is necessary and BOW is for women of all ages and fitness levels.


Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education

The Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) was established by the Wisconsin legislature in 1990 and placed within the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The WCEE is working to improve environmental education in Wisconsin through assisting in the development, dissemination, implementation and evaluation of teacher and student   K-12 Environmental Education programs.


Center for Land Use Education

CLUE creates learning opportunities for communities to help them make sound land use decisions that result in a sustainable Wisconsin.

  • UW-Extension Wisconsin Lakes Partnership
    • University of Wisconsin - Extension Lakes is a team of education professionals dedicated to preserving our Wisconsin Legacy of lakes through education, communication, and bringing people together.​

Center for Watershed Science & Education

The Center for Watershed Science and Education:  supports watershed stewardship; Assists citizens with lake, river and drinking water quality problems; promotes management strategies for water resource protection; provides water quality assessment and support; and prepares students for careers as water resource professionals. 

  • Central Wisconsin Groundwater Center
    • Helping citizens and governments manage the groundwater in Wisconsin wisely, through education, public information, applied research, and technical assistance.
  • Water and Environmental Analysis Lab (WEAL)
    • The WEAL offers analytical, research, and educational services to the public such as testing homeowner’s water for a wide range of toxins including metals and pesticides.

Global Environmental Management Education Center (GEM)

UW-Extension Solid and Hazardous Waste Education Center (SHWEC)

SHWEC’s mission is to enhance Wisconsin's environment and economy by providing quality education, information and technical assistance to promote the sustainable use of natural resources.​

Wisconsin Cooperative Fishery Research Unit

fish.jpg The Wisconsin Cooperative Fishery Research Unit provides fisheries and aquatic science research and M.S. graduate education through a unique collaboration of the U.S. Geological Survey, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.​

Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology (WIST)

wist.jpg ​ WIST was founded to create a fresh approach to meet today’s environmental and economic challenges. WIST is a multidisciplinary institute powered by the energy and expertise of faculty, staff and students across the UWSP campus. ​
