  • 1946 - Began as the nation's first conservation education major and was officialy established as a College in 1970.

  • Leading undergraduate natural resources program in the United States. 

  • High placement of graduates: 91% (79% placement in field, 12% seek graduate study.)

  • Over 200 scholarships are awarded annually, totaling over $200,000.

  • Surrounding area includes 160,000 acres of forest land, 32,000 acres of wetlands, 31,000 acres of public lands within a 20-mile radius of campus, 64 streams and 135 lakes offering numerous opportunities for hands-on experience.

  • Over 1,600 undergraduate majors; 150 undergraduate minors; 110 graduate students.

  • Over 130 faculty and staff work closely with each student as they move through their programs.

  • Strong outreach and extension programs that broaden the opportunities available to our students during their time at UWSP.

  • A resource center, Student Success Center (SSC), devoted specifically to the needs of our students.  The SSC is a one stop shop for all CNR majors that has information

  • 21 student professional organizations with over 1,000 active members.

  • Integrated core curriculum: Fisheries and Water ResourcesForestry, Human Dimensions of Natural Resource Management, Soil and Waste Resources, and Wildlife Ecology.
