College of Natural Resources BuildingThrough the College of Natural Resources you may earn a Master of Science in Natural Resources with an emphasis from a variety of areas such as forestry, wildlife, fisheries, water, human dimensions of natural resources, environmental education, soil science,  waste management and others.  All of our programs are designed to meet your individual needs and interests

There are numerous opportunities for advanced study, research, and involvement in natural resource professional activities during your time here as a student.  The CNR operates three field stations on almost 2,000 acres.  Special outreach and extension programs include:  the Groundwater center, the Water and Environmental Analysis lab, Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education, Becoming an Outdoors Woman program, Wisconsin Cooperative Fishery Research and many more.

Graduate adviser Eric Anderson with studentsAdmission to the CNR Graduate Program requires that you recruit a member of the College's graduate faculty to agree to serve as your advisor. To do this, you are responsible for contacting faculty members in your area of interest to discuss your application. When a faculty member agrees to be your advisor, you will receive a letter of acceptance to the CNR Graduate Program.
