Other opportunities at the Winter Workhop:

1.  Brutal Gourmet: Ever cooked your own food over a fire in Winter?  On Saturday at lunch you have the opportunity to work with the Brutal Gourmet to do just that.  You will chop the vegetables, prepare the meat and cook it the way we used to cook... outside over a fire.  It is a great time to hear stories and learn a bit of a survival skill.  Remember though, there isn't a vegetarian option.

2. Graduate Credit Opportunity: Need a graduate credit?  Get one at the Winter Workshop.  WAEE has partnered with UW-Stevens Point to offer a 1 credit graduate level course while attending the Winter Workshop.  Natural Resources 610 is being offered by Dr. Becca Franzen.  The goals of the course include providing educators with EE professional development experience, providing information and curriculum materials that will assist educators in the integration of EE in their programs/classrooms and to provide leadership development experiences.

3. WAEE’s E-Recycling Program: Each year, WAEE offers conference attendees an opportunity to responsibly recycle old inkjet cartridges, cell phones, digital cameras, GPS, mp3 players, and/or lab top computers. In return, you are helping WAEE raise funds. Money raised will help the organization continue offering high quality programs.

4. WAEE Scholarship Program: Scholarships are offered to educators and students to help offset the costs of attending the conference. More information on the scholar application process will be posted at the beginning of December. Learn more

WAEE's Event Cancellation Policy:

All requests for refunds must be made in writing. WAEE reserves the right to deny refunds. Attendees may cancel their registration with the applicable cancelation fee if written (via mail, fax or email) notification is sent to WAEE by two weeks prior to the start of the conference(identify exact date for each event).  A cancellation fee of $30 will be subtracted from the registration fee and the remainder will be refunded via a check. Cancellations made after the cancelation deadline and no shows for the conference will result in forfeiture of the entire registration fee, except for workshops or fieldtrips that are cancelled due to inadequate enrollment.

In the event the registrant is no longer able to attend the conference, substitutions of a business colleague/coworker will be accepted.  The original registrant must submit the replacement's name and contact information in writing to WAEE.

Exceptions to the Cancellation Policy: WAEE recognizes that serious issues may arise that could prevent an attendee from cancelling their registration within the timeframe described above. There are several acceptable reasons for cancelling after the cancellation deadline. Including, but not limited to:

  • Serious illness or disabling injury– either you or a family member
  • Death in the family
  • Court appearance or jury duty
  • Unexpected military duty call-up
  • Civil disobedience

 No Show Policy
If you were prevented from attending the event, you may request a refund minus the cancellation fee in writing to WAEE within fourteen (14) calendar days following the final date of the conference. The written request must be accompanied by meaningful documentation supporting the claim that the situation physically prevented the registrant from attending the conference, through no fault on the part of the attendee. Approved requests will be issued a refund less the applicable cancellation fee of $30.
