Scholarships
for the Fall Conference and Winter Workshop are available for student members.
Fall Conference
is an annual event held in October at various locations around the state. It is a showcase for new teaching techniques, exciting field trips, and hands-on workshops. Participants come away with new knowledge and skills for their classroom and/or environmental education facility.
Winter Workshop
is held in January at Treehaven in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Winter Workshop focuses on networking with others, education opportunities, and renewing our commitment to environmental education. Through fun and lively sessions in a beautiful north woods setting. Winter Workshop gives new and experienced educators opportunities to present on topics and to learn more about the field of environmental education.
Spring Adventure
is an annual event held at the Wausau School Forest. The first Wisconsin Adventure in Outdoor Education workshop was held in May 1980. Since that time, teachers, program leaders, administrators and adventure education practitioners have made the workshop an annual trek. Typically 100 people attend each year to build, renew and share expertise to enhance curricular/program offerings. A highly trained staff leads sessions aimed at hands-on experiences immediately transferable to on-going programs.
Member Outings
are a great way to explore Wisconsin and socialize with like-minded people. Activities during each outing vary and include cave tours, guided canoe paddles, and overnight experiences. Adults, children, WAEE members, and non-members are all welcome to participate. Look in the monthly WAEE Newsletter or check back to this website for announcements and registration information for the next regional member outing!
